The HW-II woodburning heat-exchanger simply replaces the grate in your existing masonry or zero-clearance fireplace. The attached blower draws in cool room air, circulates it through the hollow tubing of the heat exchanger where it heats up, and is blown back out into the room, increasing the efficiency of your fireplace.
The HW-II has the blower discreetly mounted on the inside of the firebox (versus on the hearth like the original Hearthwarmer HW2822) and is the only heat-exchanger on the market that has a thermally protected cover. The Teddy Mold is made from recycled concrete and greatly expands the life and performance of the blower.
It is recommended to always use fireplace glass door to help prevent heat loss when the fireplace is not in use. Although fireplace glass doors ARE NOT INCLUDED with the HW-II, the heat-exchanger is designed to work with MOST masonry glass doors. You must be able to adjust any existing glass doors upward 1-3/8" to accommodate the front grille of the HW-II. The doors will then sit directly on the front grille.
